Project Description

The customer is implementing SAP FMS and among the first companies worldwide to go-live. The project goal is to replace existing regional implementations of SAP AFS with one Global Solution. In the AS-IS system landscape, SAP NW MDM is positioned to consolidate master data and distribute to the various regions and act as a reporting hub for master data. The challenge is to modify SAP NW MDM in such a way that it is capable of supporting the reporting capabilities and feeding the regional SAP AFS system, while also supporting the centralization scenario for SAP FMS.

The regional master data source systems (PLM) are being replaced simultaneously, requiring a review of the Solution architecture and landscape.

Additional to the technical changes that are required for this project, the organization also needs to adopt a global, centralized way of working.

Responsibilities/Deliverables

  •
  • Adapt the Master Data Management (SAP NW MDM) solution to support the current regional applications and the global FMS system
  • Lead team of master data management employees on implementation activities
  • Provide expert guidance / training to new employees

Project Description

Due to the ending of active support by SAP on SAP NW MDM (End of 2020), the current solution for master data must be replaced by a new master data management solution. This new solution is Informatica (Data Quality and Product360), including ActiveVOS as workflow-tool. The initial goal is to replace the current solution as-is into Informatica and once active, to optimize existing functionality and integrate with new solutions.

Simultaneously to this replacement-project, continuation of the support for the central FMS solution is key. The Master Data Management Team supports this through ongoing data migrations of the regional datasets, along with ad hoc data-loads to support 3rd Party, ad hoc and obsolete satellite systems.

Finally, the new central Data Quality and Master Data Management solution must serve as the central solution for creation and maintenance of regional PIM data. The central solution must be capable of supporting the variety of technologies for the separate regional PIM solutions.
